Our meeting room has just stepped up to the next level. We have always had the big boardroom table and chairs. We even had the conferencing telephone system before it became popular in meeting rooms. Now the room where management meets is state-of-the-art due to the audio visual installation company that transformed the place for us. The room still looks the same when you walk in, but it changes with the press of a button on a remote to an audio-visual presentation room.
When we need to see any video presentation, whether it be from a client or CEO, we press the button on the remote to set the room. The window shades are closed, the screen comes down, the projector comes on, the sound system activates and the lights are dimmed. It is really cool to experience, and it really sets the mood for all of us to pay attention to what is coming next. I really like how the system works. It does not require any user expertise. There is nothing more annoying than watching someone try to get something to work when a meeting is in progress. It is embarrassing to everyone. This keeps it simple and easy to accomplish for anyone in charge of the meeting. You do not have to be technically savvy to get everything working.
We should have done this a long time ago. Our old way was to haul in a projector stand, hook up a computer, set up a screen and do everything manually. We even had to listen to a sound system that was cheap computer speakers. This is so much better. During a teleconferencing session, everyone in the room can be heard at a normal voice level by the person on the screen. The room has microphones that pick up voices from every seating position without having to have a microphone in everyone’s face.
